Trent Freshers is one of the largest freshers in the UK with a huge variety of events on campus and in venues all over Nottingham. You can also choose from a range of smaller bars and little hideaways so you can discover all that Nottingham has to offer.

Over 2000 brand new students gathered to celebrate their first official night at NTU at The Opening Night party at The Level. It was the perfect opportunity to make new friends while dancing along to three floors of music from Trent’s biggest DJs. New students were welcomed with confetti cannons, free giveaways from VK, and a few surprises thrown in.
The night when students became official fully-fledged members of the legendary T-R-E-N-T Army! They grabbed their favourite camouflage and combat boots then headed to The Level for a completely transformed ‘Base Camp’ venue with camo netting, sandbags, and free giveaways to make the night unforgettable. Three floors hosted live sets from the best DJs Nottingham had to offer, accompanied by lasers and green confetti. This event was a huge tradition for Trent students, and it was one not to be missed!
Students experienced a full taste of the weekly Tuned clubnight as Rock City put on one of the BIGGEST Glitter Parties you could imagine! 2000+ students filled the venue for an impressive clubnight featuring big lighting shows, Co2 Cannons, 3 rooms of music, 13 Bars and 2-4-1 drinks all night.
Trent Freshers took over Unit 13, a warehouse style venue hidden underneath the streets of Nottingham City centre. This unique industrial underground clubbing experience provides the ultimate atmosphere with huge tunes and an incredible light show.
Trent Freshers brought a bolier room inspired 360° event to The Level, Nottingham. Students experienced the vibes up close at this multi-genre event playing everything from house to techno. Featuring the live DJs bringing the energy from the middle of the room. It was a huge production all night from lasers to insane visuals.
Stealth & Rescue Rooms joined forces to bring the ultimate alternative music night. 5 rooms of music, outdoor patios and guest DJs showcasing the best of Drum & Bass, Garage, Bassline, Hip-Hop, Rap and RnB. Plus 2-4-1 drinks all night long.
Students joined us for an Acoustic session featuring music from local up and coming talent. The performances played a variety of original songs and covers, so there was something for everyone to enjoy. Cute candles and fairy lights set the cosy vibe.
Another massive Trent tradition. Students took a dip in the famous Ocean! This event saw the best Beach Party fancy dress, think bikini tops, grass skirts and students received a free garland on arrival. It’s was a wholesome night of singing-along to charts and cheese music over two floors.
Trent’s very own festival OnPoint! We put on a huge Trent line-up across multiple stages of music. Not forgetting fairground rides all night and a photobooth capturing the night. If that’s wasn’t enough students could also grab some yummy festival food including popcorn and candyfloss.
Students joined us under the stars and magical fairy lights for a cinema favourite on the big outdoor screen at the Magic Garden which lies hidden away behind the cobbled streets of The Lace Market. Plus there was free popcorn!
Students enjoyed an immersive night of music like never before at the Silent Disco! They grabbed some headphones and chose from three channels of music. 3 live DJ’s battled it out on stage out to win the crowd over. It was an unforgettable experience where the music was in the crowds control.
Students joined us to laugh out loud at Live at The Loft – Comedy Box. The superb line-up of performers including some of Britain’s best up-and-coming comedians kept the comedy coming all night long. Drinks and a great range of our tasty food offerings were available at the bar!
International students and those just wanting to meet people in a fun and friendly environment came along to this welcome event to party with people from all over the world. DJ’s played music from all over the world, plus free sweet treats from across the globe.
Forbidden Forest had an exclusive event for Trent Freshers to kick off the Journey to Forbidden Forest Festival! They brought some of the biggest DJ’s in the UK right now live at our Students Union! Live DJ headliner to be announced soon, it was a truly unmissable event!
B-I-N-G-O- it’s Bingo time! This bingo was not just any old bingo…. This high energy fun-filled evening had dance-offs, sing-alongs, music quizzes, crowd confessions and confetti cannons. Not forgetting students winning some HUGE prizes (including iPads, event tickets and crazy fancy dress)!.
Iconic is Trent’s LGBTQ+ friendly night where everyone is welcome (how iconic?!). It’s an ultra-friendly inclusive night of fun, with zero judgement and the perfect place to meet new friends. Students enjoyed a free shot on arrival and danced along to anthems as the live DJ brings the best vibes and song requests.
The BIGGEST student Saturday night in Nottingham! District is Trents insane weekly club night at The Level. 3 floors of multi genre music from the best DJ’s in Nottingham, huge state of the art production including lasers and confetti. We’ll start the year as we mean to go on with great drinks deals and a few surprises thrown in, it’s the place to be!
Student’s put their to the test knowledge at The Big Freshers Quiz in the City, Clifton and Brackenhurst campuses. It was a perfect chilled night to make new friends and compete for prizes including vouchers, a crate of VK and loads more!
Students dressed to impress for a night of luxury and VIP treatment! We transformed the full venue with a red carpet entrance, and a free drinks reception and sweet treats. You could dance the night away watch and stunning aerialist performances. Students could heads upstairs to our classy cocktail & casino lounge!
